ISLAMABAD : April 30,2023: Against hope of some relief , Finance minister , Ishaq Dar’s mid night announcement brought disappointment to the commuters when he declared to keep peteil prices unchanged for next fortnight (May 1-15).
The Finance minister issued a recoded video message at around mid night to give the nation shocking news that the price of petrol will remain unchanged for next 15 days.
Since crude oil prices had shown downward trend in the global market there was a great possibility that the government will pass on some relief to inflation struck people of Pakistan by slashing petrol prices but these hope of relief just proved hope against a hope when Ishaq Dar instead passing on the benefit of lower crude prices kept the petrol prices unchanged .
As per Mr Ishaq Dar’s announcement , the petrol price will remain unchanged and its per litre price will be Rs 282 a litre till May 15.
The minister , however , announced reduction in high speed diesel (HSD) price by Rs 5. Its new price is fixed at 288 .
The rates of kerosin and light speed diesel have been slashed by Rs 10 a litre .
