ISLAMABAD: As debate continues in media over participation of public in Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Lahore rally, poor attendence has worried Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML) supremo, Mian Nawaz Sharif in United Kingdom.
Sources in PML(N) confided to NEWSMAN that Nawz Sharif has noted poor attendence of the public in PDM Lahore rally and sought its explanation from local party leadership, asking as to why it has failed to make PDM power show in Lahore successful.
Nawaz Sharif has expressed his displeasure over poor participation of public in PDM rally held on December 13,2020 and repremanded local party leadership for its poor performance.
According to the sources, Mian Nawaz Sharif has made phone calls to Lahore- based MNAs and important local party leaders like Saad Rafiq and Ayaz Sadiq and expressed his displeasure for not making PDM Lahore rally impressive.
Saad Rafiq and Ayaz Sadiq always play pivitol role in bringing public to PMLN rallies. This time again PMLN top leadership relied on these two local leaders for making PDM Lahore rally a big success, but it did not happen .
Inspite of toll claims of PML N leadership to make PDM Lahore rally biggest one to take opposition movement ‘Par’, it remained unimpressive.
The political anaylists also termed PDM Lahore rally as a poor show and warned opposition of its fallout on its campaign in coming weeks.
PDM leadership had depended on Lahore rally as it was last show of the series. Had Lahore rally become successful it would have made upcoming PDM events like March on Islamabad and force the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government to resign and call fresh elections in the country easier.
Now when independent sources are dubbing PDM Lahore rally as “Unimpressive ” it will have adverse impact on PDM future plan of action.
Meanwhile, PMLN central executive committee (CEC) and parliamentary committee also deliberated on those factors which resulted in poor attendence at Lahore PDM rally.
Maryam Nawaz, according to media reports, showed her anguish over some party leaders who remained indifferent to Lahore rally. She reportedly told CEC and parliamentary committee that now onward only dedicated party workers will be given party positions.
