OIC gives impetus to highlight Afghan crisis: Bilal Akbar

JEDDAH (Saudi Arabia):
Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Bilal Akbar, has said the Organisation of Islamic Countries ((OIC) Islamanad session has ,given an impetus to highlight fast- deteriorating Afghanistan situation . The ambassador expressed these views during his interactive session with Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia. The interaction with Pakistani community was held at Pakistan consulate general in Jeddah on Thursday.
The session was attended by a cross-section of Pakistani community from Makkah Mukarramah and other regions of Saudi Arabia. The Ambassador talked about the depth of Pak-Saudi ties and shed light on the success of the just concluded OIC extra-ordinary summit held in Islamabad on Afghanistan.
Ambassador Bilal Akbar also attended to various views, comments and suggestions shared by the community members especially issues related to their work condition, Iqama renewals and legal issues associated with the lapse of their exit/re-entry visas due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

The Ambassador assured the community of the fullest cooperation of Pakistani embassy and the consulate general in facilitating Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia in the best possible manners.
Pakistanis had serious problems while returning from Pakistan back to Saudi Arabia during Corona pandemic due to multiple reasons like type of vaccine they had got from Pakistan as Saudi Arabia had not recommended Chinese vaccines and other European or American brands of vaccines were rarely administrated in Pakistan. Pakistanis also have some legal issues while staying in Saudi Arabia. In the past, Pakistani community had very limited access to Pakistan’s ambassador to have done away with such issues. Incumbent Pakistan’s ambassador, Bilal Akbar, has introduced a different working strategy that is helping Pakistani community to get their long outstanding problems in Saudi Arabia.
