Peshawar – Following the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Umar Khan, Swat Police has finalized a comprehensive security plan to ensure peaceful celebrations during Eid ul Adha across the district.
According to the security plan, more than 5,000 police Officers and officials have been deployed at various sensitive locations under the direct supervision of senior officers.
Official said that 423 police Officers and officials have been assigned to cattle markets, while 2,313 officers and police forces have been deployed at markets, shopping malls, checkpoints, and major bazaars.In addition, 838 officials have been stationed at Eidgahs and Jamia mosques to maintain security during Eid prayers.To facilitate the expected influx of tourists during the Eid holidays, 1,517 traffic and district police officials have been deployed at tourist destinations, Tourist Facilitation Centers, and key highways across Swat.
Speaking about the arrangements, DPO Muhammad Umar Khan said that Swat Police remains fully committed to providing a peaceful and secure environment for citizens and visitors during Eid ul Adha.He added that Tourist Facilitation Centers have also been established to assist tourists visiting Swat for recreation during the holidays.
He further stated that in order to ensure public safety and prevent street crime, police are conducting foot patrols, snap checking, and regular highway patrolling.Officials from the Ababeel Squad and Quick Response Force (QRF) teams have also been deployed on important routes and public places.
The DPO also appealed to the public to refrain from aerial firing and other unlawful activities during Eid celebrations.Do not turn moments of joy into someone else’s tragedy. Celebrate Eid peacefully and responsibly with your loved ones, he urged.
