PAF Celebrates Graduation of Over 150 Cadets at Asghar Khan Academy

RAWALPINDI, November 7, 2024 – The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Academy Asghar Khan in Risalpur held a grand graduation ceremony today, marking the successful completion of various prestigious training courses by its cadets.

A total of 139 aviation cadets, 8 gentleman cadets, and 2 naval cadets graduated from the 150th General Duty Pilot (GD(P)), 96th Engineering, 106th Air Defence, 26th A&SD, 9th Logistics, and 132nd Combat Support courses.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, was the chief guest at the event, accompanied by Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force.

The ceremony was also attended by senior military officials, civilian dignitaries, and the families of the graduates, who celebrated the cadets’ transition into commissioned officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

The event highlighted the achievements of the graduates, many of whom were recognized for their exceptional performance during their training. Among the awardees, Aviation Cadet Sports Sergeant Imran Raza was presented with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Trophy for best overall performance in General Service Training.

Aviation Cadet Sergeant Haseeb Abdul Malik received the Chief of the Air Staff Trophy for excellence in the Air Defence Course, while Aviation Cadet Usman Rasheed was honored for his exceptional performance in the Combat Support Course.

Pakistan Naval Cadet Sergeant Hafiz Ali Asad was awarded the Sword of Honour for his outstanding achievement at the College of Aeronautical Engineering.

In his address, General Mirza congratulated the graduates on their accomplishments and commended the dedication and discipline they exhibited throughout their rigorous training.

He also expressed gratitude to the families of the cadets, acknowledging their crucial role in supporting the graduates during their time at the academy.

The ceremony concluded with an exhilarating aerial display by the PAF Academy’s aerobatic team, Sherdils, whose precision flying left the audience in awe.

The excitement continued with a stunning formation flying display by the PAF’s fleet of Mirage, F-16, JF-17, and J-10C fighter jets, showcasing the air superiority and advanced capabilities of the Pakistan Air Force.

This ceremony not only celebrated the graduates’ achievements but also underscored the continued strength and professionalism of the Pakistan Air Force as it prepares its future leaders.
