Pakistan and China Boost Business Ties with Upcoming B2B Road Shows

ISLAMABAD, October 23, 2024: Business-to-Business (B2B) activities between China and Pakistan are set to gain momentum with major road shows focusing on the Leather and Fisheries sectors.

These events will take place on October 29 in Qingdao and November 5 in Guangzhou, featuring participation from 30 representatives of 17 fisheries companies and 16 executives from 10 leather institutions in Pakistan.

The developments were discussed during a high-level meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Privatization, and Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan.

He highlighted the Board of Investment’s comprehensive strategy to enhance collaboration between Pakistani and Chinese businesses, aimed at opening up access to American and European markets through these global road shows.

Khan emphasized seven critical sectors for cooperation: Leather, Textiles, Medical and Surgical Equipment, Fruits and Vegetables, Plastics, Fisheries, and Animal Feed.

He noted that the business partnership between Pakistan and China has the potential to significantly impact the country’s economy, with 168 Chinese companies and 78 Pakistani firms currently engaged in mutual collaboration.

The minister reiterated the priority of strengthening business ties with China, pledging full support for Pakistani enterprises.

He commended the efforts of the Pakistani Embassy in China in facilitating these initiatives and urged local companies to increase B2B activities and pursue joint ventures with Chinese firms to enhance economic growth.
