Lahore : Pakistan finally won the last and decisive ODI by defeating visiting Australia by 4 wickets played at Qadafi Cricket Stadium Lahore on Thursday.
After winning the toss , visiting Australian side opted to bat first. It scored 157 runs and gave a target of 158 runs to Pakistan to win the last match of 3-ODI series.
Since both sides had won one match each hence Thursday match was a decisive game. A 157 runs target seemed easy in the beginning , but fast turning pitch made easy target difficult one. At one stage , Pakistan ‘s batting side seemed crumbling and it appeared the visiting side was in control of the match. In the first 20 overs, Pakistan kept adding score to its total and then it suddenly fell in trouble. Tight bowling of the visiting side put Pakistani batting line under pressure. Particularly , dismissal of Babar Azam and his partner , Arafat Mnnhas turned things in favour of Australian side. In middle overs, Pakistan score had gone bit slow and it seemed that Australian side could win the crucial game to win ODI series. Thanks to Shadab Khan and Samad who stood fast on the crease. These both Pakistani bowlers kept the strike rotating and finally they completed the target of 157 runs to win the final ODI and so the series in 42nd over.
