Pakistan defeat Cambodia in football world cup qualifying match

Islamabad : Oct 17 : After defeating Cambodia, Pakistan football team reached the second round of the World Cup qualifiers for the first time. In the match held at the Jinnah Stadium in Islamabad, Pakistan defeated Cambodia by one goal to zero, with Haroon Hamid scoring the only goal for Pakistan in the 69th minute. The 197th ranked Pakistan football team has never won a World Cup qualifier match.

Federal Minister of Information Murtaza Solangi, Federal Secretary for Inter-Provincial Communication Ahmed Hanif Orakzai, Balochistan Provincial Sports Minister Jamal Raisani, Director General of Pakistan Sports Board Shoaib Khoso were present in thousands of spectators.

Pakistan has qualified for the second round of the World Cup Qualifiers for the first time, in the next stage Pakistan football team will face Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan and Jordan. It should be noted that the first qualifying match played in Cambodia on a home and away basis was a goalless draw. After the match, national footballer Kaleemullah said that I think Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has taken a great step in terms of this event, it is a pleasure to win in our country.

He said that Pakistan will face a lot of challenges in the next round, the competition of the national football team against Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan and Jordan will be important.
