Pakistan inaugurates new chancery building of consulate general in Jeddah

JEDDAH (Saudi Arabia) : Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on Friday inaugurated the new chancery building of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah during a simple and graceful ceremony.

The event was attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq, Saudi dignitaries, Consul General of Pakistan in Jeddah Syed Mustafa Rabbani, prominent members of the Pakistani community, and officials of the Pakistan Consulate.

During the ceremony, the Pakistani national flag was hoisted at the premises of the new chancery building, followed by tree plantation, ribbon cutting, unveiling of a commemorative plaque, and special prayers for the prosperity and progress of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. A brief video presentation highlighting the key features of the project was also shown.

In his remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah and the support extended by the Saudi authorities in making the project a reality. He reiterated the government’s commitment to facilitating overseas Pakistanis through the provision of efficient consular services.

After inspecting the new building and its facilities, Senator Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction over the completion of the project and approved the transfer of operations and consular services to the new chancery building at the earliest.

The western region of Saudi Arabia is home to around 1.8 million Pakistanis, and the new chancery building and its modern facilities are expected to significantly improve service delivery for the community.
