Pakistan, India ‘discuss’ Men’s Cricket World Cup controversy

Zaka -J Shah meet in Durban to sort out thorny issues

ISLAMABAD : July 11,2023: Pakistan and India have made a direct interaction in Durban , South Africa to discuss hot issues of Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

According to the media reports, the newly appointed chief of management committee of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) , Chaudhary Zaka Ashraf, and Bharat Cricket Council of India (BCCI) secretary , J. Shah , had a sideline meeting during the International Cricket Council (ICC) consultative meeting in progress in Durban.

The media reports said both sides had a meeting in a cordial atmosphere and it discussed the lingering controversy over venue of the Men Cricket World Cup 2023.

The Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is schedule in Bharat , but Pakistan has expressed concern over safety of its players in some of the venues in Bharat and demanded of ICC to change at least three venues of Pak-India games .

India is resisting Pakistan’s demand.

Here in Pakistan the authorities are yet to take a final decision where Pakistan should participate in the Men’s Cricket World Cup . Prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif, has formed a high level committee led by Foreign minister , Balwal Bhutto, to recommend its final report on the ussue.

It’s perceived that direct contact between India and Pakistan in Durban will help remove Pakistan’s concerns and it will boost up Islamabad’s trust to send it team to play the Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
