Islamabad : Jan 19 ; After 48 hours , Iran and Pakistan have agreed to de-escalate situation that arose out of missile and air strikes during the last two days.

A telephonic call of Foreign Minister , Jalil Abbas Jilani, and his Iranian counterpart , Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, worked well to refuse tension between the two counties.

Foreign Office Spokesperson , Zuhra Mumtaz Baloch, issued statement here on Friday which said Iran and Pakistan have agreed after telephonic conversation between their Foreign ministers to de-escalate situation and strengthen mutual cooperation to counter terrorism . The statement also noted that the Foreign ministers also discussed sending of their ambassadors to respective counties and bring diplomatic relations to normalcy.

Iran’s missile attack on Pakistan on January 16 last and in return Pakistan’s strikes in Iran after 24 hours had created extremely dangerous situation not only for these two neighbouring Islamic brotherly counties , but also for the entire region and even beyond.

Soon after Iran’s missile attack and Pakistan ‘s obviously harsh reaction to it, China had immediately urged both Islamabad and Tehran to avoid exclusion of the situation. Following China other foreign powers like the US and Russia had also called upon Iran and Pakistan to immediately reconcile their positions and take reconciliatory steps to de-escalate the situation.

Pakistan and Iran both seemed reading the danger involved in the situation created due to sudden strikes on each other . Pakistan and Iran despite having differences on some bordering issues , do support each other on many global and regional issues. An environment of peace and cordial relationship is a need of the hours for these both Islamic brotherly countries .
