ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reiterated its unflinching support for Afghanistan and extended all out help to establish lasting peace in that war- torn country.
Pakistan extended its full support for Afghanistan when a visiting Afghan delegation had seperate meetings with prime minister, Imran Khan, and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) , Qamar Javed Bajwa , here on Tuesday.
A high level delegation of Afghanistan is rigjt now in Pakistan for consultation with Pakistani leadership on the new Afghanistan sitaution.
The Afghan visiting delegation discussed the current situation in Afghanistan with prime minister, Imran Khan, and COAS, Qamar Javed Bajwa.
Pakistan’s top civilian and military leadership during the meetings informed the visiting delegation that Pakistan is interested in seeing complete peace in Afghanistan so that its people could have a peaceful and normal life in their country.
Prime minister , Imran Khan, told the Afghan delegation that Pakistan is stressing upon all parties to Afghan issue including Taliban to sit on a negotiating table and form a concensus government in Afghanistan. The prime minister added that Pakistan will be available for reconstruction of Afghanistan. He said Pakistan will like to have an independent and strong government in Afghanistan to ensure peace in that country.
Pakistan is also in touch with the international community for finding out a workable solution to Afghan issue. Foreign minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi is continuously in contact with world leaders to discuss Afghan issue and exchange different proposals for permanent peace in that country.
