Pakistan ready to meet ISIS threat : ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Director general Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General, Iftikhar Babar, has said Pakistan was fully cognizant of the Afghan situation and was ready to meet any threat emerging to it in the future including reemergence of Daesh, a deadly terror group.
Iftikhar Babar told the newsmen at a weekly briefing here on Friday that Pakistan was in full control of the situation at its entry points at Afghan border. He said Pakistan’s security agencies and other departments were doing excellent job of screening of the traffic at Pak- Afghan border crossing points. ISPR director general said “ Pakistan has made all required arrangements to cope with the situation at Pak-Afghan border and its measures were working as per plan to facilitate the people to come to Pakistan from Afghanistan . Iftikhar Babar said Pakistan has made unparalleled sacrifices due to decades old unrest in Afghanistan and it would make every possible effort for lasting peace in that war-torn country.
The director general ISPR reiterated Pakistan’s position on formation of government and said its Pakistan desire that all Afghan groups should have an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
He said Pakistan incurred $ 152 billion loss due to Afghan war besides bearing loss of over 80 thousand human lives. The director general recalled that India used Afghan soil to conduct terror activities in Pakistan.
Pakistan raised the issue of India’s use of Afghan soil at every international for a but the world community did not fulfilled its responsibility that inspired New Delhi to carry out its nefarious design of destablising Pakistan through terror activities. He said India’s role in Afghanistan was of a spoiler and its prime target was Pakistan. The director general ISPR added that Afghan government of Ashraf Ghani preferred India over Pakistan for training of its military. He said Pakistan offered to Afghan government to train its full brigade of army but it sent cadets in thousands to India for training. He told a questioner that India’s development plan in Afghanistan was basically a conspiracy to create mistrust among Afghan people against Pakistan. The director general ISPR noted that India backed anti Pakistan TTP in Afghanistan and used soil of that country for terrorism in Pakistan.
Iftikhar Babar told another questioner that Pakistan will keep the needy helping for evacuation from Kabul. Pakistan has so for excavated move than 1500 people from Kabul and its generous help is being acknowledged by the world community.
