Pakistan reiterates full-fledged support for Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD; A meeting of the Parliamentary Security Committee on Monday reiterated full- fledged support for Afghanistan. Pakistan’s political leadership except prime minister, Imran Khan, was briefed by top military brass including army chief , Qamar Javed Bajwa, on security situation of Pakistan and its challenges posed by fast changing geo political situation. Director General Inter Services Intellegence (ISI), General Faiz Hameed, and other security related top military officials briefed the political leadership on security challenges confronted with the country.
The opposition parties in the parliament attended the briefing of the military top brass. The Pakistan People Party (PPP) chairman, Balawal Bhutto, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) president, Shahbaz Sharif, and other important parliamentary leaders attended the briefing. The army chief answered the questions raised by the political leaders relating to the security challenges of Pakistan.

The meeting was also given a detailed presentation on Pakistan’s talks with banned Tahreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The committee was told that
Pakistan was holding talks with banned TTP on its own terms and its positive outcome will help end terrorism in Pakistan. The committee was also briefed on the latest situation on Kashmir. The committee was told that Pakistan was doing every possible effort to avert looming human crisis in Afghanistan.
