Pakistan ‘s MI 17 helicopter crashes near Mazaffarabad due to technical fault : ISPR

Military's media wing says "All on board. embraced 'Shahadat' in crash. PM Sharif expresses grief over loss .

Rawalpindi, June 10, 2026; An Mi-17 helicopter of Pakistan Army Aviation crashed near Muzaffarabad today during take-off due to technical fault, Defence forces media wing said on Wednesday.

In a statement , Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said “All personnel on board embraced Shahadat. There were no survivors”.

Rescue and recovery teams immediately reached the crash site. A board of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the exact technical cause of the accident.

COAS & CDF and all Ranks Pakistan Army express deep grief over the tragic loss of precious lives and extend heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

According to  media wing of the Prime Minister Office (PMO) , prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , has expressed grief over loss of brave soldiers who embraced ‘Shahadat’ in the crash .
