Pakistan Sugar Mills Association elects Abbas Sarfraz Khan as chairman

Election Commissioner issues notification of prominent industrialist Abbas Sarfraz Khan as PSMA chairman for 2024-26 term

Islamabad: The Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) announced on Wednesday dated 20th November, 2024 the election of Mr. Abbas Sarfaraz Khan as its new Central chairman for the term 2024-26. The decision was announced by the election commission.

With a wealth of experience in the sugar industry and a strong track record of leadership, Mr. Khan is well-regarded for his in-depth knowledge of agriculture, trade, and High-tech sugar production practices. He has previously held the position of Senator and Federal Minister in the Government of Pakistan.

His election signals a commitment by the PSMA to strengthen collaboration between Sugar Industry, sugarcane farmers and the government.

In his first statement as chairman of PSMA, Mr. Khan expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him by the association’s members.

He said “It is an honor to lead the PSMA at this critical juncture,” Mr. Khan stated. “As we move forward, I am committed to enhancing industry practices, promoting sustainable
development, and addressing the key challenges faced by sugar sector”.

The Pakistan Sugar Mills Association and its members look forward to Mr.
Khan’s strategic vision and leadership, confident that his term will bring meaningful advancements to the sector.
