Riyadh -Saudi Arabia – Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Farooq, has said that Pakistani investors and entrepreneurs residing in the Kingdom can play a vital and effective role in enhancing trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He noted that the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia is highly dynamic and actively utilizing its capabilities, which can add a new dimension to bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
He expressed these views while addressing a significant event organized by the Investors & Business Forum in Riyadh. The event was attended by a large number of Pakistani investors and business leaders from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and other cities.
In his address, Ambassador Ahmad Farooq emphasized that there are immense opportunities for Pakistani investors, particularly in key economic sectors such as manpower, information technology, industry, and trade. He further stated:
“We are committed to ensuring that the Embassy of Pakistan and the Pakistani community work together in playing an active and meaningful role in the economic progress of our country.”
Dr. Shagufta Zareen, Pakistan’s Trade and Investment Minister in Saudi Arabia, also attended the event. She shared her insights on the business opportunities available to Pakistani investors and highlighted the support being extended at the diplomatic level.
Ghulam Safdar, President of the Pakistan Investors Forum, said that there are hundreds of Pakistani investors across Saudi Arabia. By strengthening connections among them, not only can their businesses grow, but employment opportunities in Pakistan can also be increased. He added that this process will boost foreign exchange reserves and contribute to strengthening the Pakistani economy.
Several distinguished guests also addressed the gathering, including Raja Khalid, Zafar Javed, Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood, Chaudhry Nazir Jutt, Basheer Chaudhry, Asghar Qureshi, Malik Muhammad Bilal, and Rana Abdul Rauf, who shared their views on economic and business development.
At the conclusion of the event, the official website of the Pakistan Investors Forum was formally launched. The aim of the platform is to enhance connectivity, facilitate information exchange, and promote business cooperation among Pakistani investors not only in Saudi Arabia but across the Gulf region and globally.
