Govt denied to pass on actual reduction in petroleum product prices

Islamabad : April 30 , 2024 : The government on Tuesday reduced the petroleum product prices for next fortnight (May 1-15). The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) issued the notification for reduction in petroleum product prices here on Tuesday . According to the notification , petrol rates have been cut by Rs 5.45 per litre and its new rates has been fixed at Rs 288.49 per litre . Diesel prices reduced by Rs 8.42 per litre and kerosene oil prices have been reduced by Rs 8.74 per litre. Since crude oil prices have reduced in the global market , the commuters were expecting significant reduction in petroleum product prices . The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had recommended Rs 9 cut in petrol prices per litre . The government ,however , passed on partial relief to the public in petrol prices.
