ISLAMABAD : Feb 24,2022: In a bid to build-up forex reserves, the government has allocated 25% Hajj quota for those who will pay the expense in US dollar. Those 25% intending Hajis who will pay Hajj expense in US dollar will qualify for Hajj 2023 without any balloting.
Although the ministry of Religious Affairs will announce Hajj Policy 2023 in next few days, but salient features of the Hajj Policy are here.
Depreciation in the rupee value is likely to push up the Hajj expense in 2023 significantly .
According to our special correspondent , Munir Ahmad , Hajj expense this year may exceed one million rupee per person.
The ministry of Religious Affairs has issued schedule for Hajj 2023 .
According to the schedule , the first flight of intending Hajis will take off from Pakistan for Saudi Arabia on May 22 and last flight will land from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia on June 22.
After the Hajj, the first flight will return to Pakistan on July 2, 2O23 and similarly the last flight will return to Pakistan on July 2, 2023.
The Saudi Arabia has banned traveling of Hajis from airport for hotels in private vehicles and its violation will cost the driver 5000 Saudi Riyal.
