ISLAMABAD: Nov 15,2022:. The government has decided to keep petroleum products prices unchanged for next fortnight .
Finance minister , Ishaq Dar , himself announced the decision of the government of keeping the petroleum products unchanged .
He said the government had announced to withdraw the appeal filed by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) against the decision of a Shariat Court regarding changing the current Riba based banking system and introduce a Riba free Islamic banking system in Pakistan.
The Finance minister said the SBP has sought permission from the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) for withdrawal of appeal against the decision of Shariat Court of Pakistan .
The Federal Shariat Court had given a decision to put an end to Riba based banking system and switch over to Islamic banking system in Pakistan .
There is a big question as if the government will have a system free of Riba in banking system in five years.
