PM cuts diesel price by Rs 135 , petrol Rs 12

Islamabad : Prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , has announced cut in the rates of petroleum products with immediate effect.

Addressing the nation on electronic media Friday , prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , said he announces Rs 135 in the diesel and Rs 12 per liter in the rates of petrol . With the reduction in the oil prices diesel rates scaled down from Rs 522 to Rs 385 a litre and petrol rates reduced from Rs 378 to Rs 366 a litre.

Prime minister Shahbaz Sharif , announced that the new prices of petroleum products will become effective from mid-night on Friday.

Prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , said major cut in diesel will give a considerable relief to the farming community which was currently busy in harvesting of the wheat crop. He said his government is focused on passing on full benefit of lowering oil prices to the people of Pakistan who were faced with huge financial burden to the rising prices of the oil in the wake of Middle East (ME) crisis

He added that he had cut down petrol prices by Rs 80 per litre last week and now he is again going to announce cut of Rs 12 in petrol prices with immediate effect.

Prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , said the welfare of the people of Pakistan was his priority. He noted that he rejected a proposal for passing on a partial relief of lowering prices.

The prime minister also took his nation into confidence on his government ‘s efforts for hosting Iran-US talks in Islamabad for a permanent peace in the ME region. He thanked Iran and US for accepting his proposal for an immediate ceasefire in ME and come to negotiation table for bringing peace in ME region.

Mr Sharif gave credit of bringing the parties to ceasefire and subsequently on negotiation table to deputy prime minister , Ishaq Dar, and Field Martial , Syed Asim Munir . He appealed to Pakistani nation to pray for success of Islamabad talks scheduled between Iran and US from April 11 (Saturday).
