Islamabad : On the day of Pakistan ‘s independence , prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , addressed a main ceremony held in Islamabad and announced to set up an Army Rocket Force, besides offering the political forces of the country to join hands with the government to have a national concensus on major issues and show the world that Pakistan ‘s political forces are unite and have same views on the issues of national importance.
Field martial COAS , other civil and military leadership attended the event. Islamabad based diplomats and key members of the federal cabinet were also present on the occasion.
Mr Shahbaz Sharif appreciated the leadership role of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Field Martial , Syed Asim Munir , in the flight against India in last May. He said due to better strategy and bold decisions of COAS and Field Martial , Syed Asim Munir , Pakistan inflicted the worst defeat on India in just four days of war. He saluted the armed forces to make Pakistan victorious in the war against India in May this year. The prime minister also counted economic progress of Pakistan during his government and again gave its major credit to COAS , Syed Asim Munir. He said the military leadership ‘s contribution made it possible for his government to get economic stability . He added that today the world rating agencies are improving Pakistan’s rating which indicates Pakistan ‘s bouncing back to become a regional economic power. He thanked overseas Pakistanis and described their role in Pakistan’s economic recovery as of a saviour. The prime minister addressed to the youth in the last part of his speech and said the youth is real asset of Pakistan and asked it to take a role of a leader to take Pakistan to the new level of progress and prosperity in the years to come.
