Islamabad : Prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , on Friday night addressed to the nation to brief it on the potential difficulties unfolding for Pakistan due to the on-going ME war. He called upon Pakistani nation to follow austerity in their individual lives to cope with difficult situation arising out of the ME war.
Mr Sharif added that ME crisis has created a worrisome situation for the entire world wherein economies are reeling in difficult times. He said the oil prices are going up massively due to the ME war.
Mr Sharif claimed that his government is doing firework to mitigate fallouts of the ME war on Pakistan. He maintained that he was suggested to pass on the impact of the rising petroleum product prices to the end buyer and its accumulated impact in the financial terms was Rs 24 billion , but keeping in mind the problems faced with the people he decided that the financial impact of Rs 24 billion be borne by his government. He maintained that with the start of the second week after breaking out the ME war in a row, he again turned down a summary for massive increase in the prices of the petroleum products and his government is going to digest the second increase which is going to add a burden of Rs 45 billion on the national exchequer. He said his government is saving money to adjust major increases in the rates of petrol and diesel.
The prime minister noted that his government was doing every possible effort to save masses from further burden of surge in rates of petroleum products. However , the premier , noted that if the ME war continues it may become necessary to pass on the increase in the energy products to the end buyer.
The prime minister prayed for early end to the ME war.
