PM Shehbaz Sharif Meets Qatari Business Leaders to Strengthen Economic Ties

DOHA, November 1, 2024: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s investment potential in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and finance during a meeting with a delegation from the Qatar Businessmen Association (QBA).

The delegation was led by His Excellency Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al-Thani, to discuss enhancing economic collaboration between Pakistan and Qatar.

The delegation featured prominent business figures, including Mr. Saod Bin Omar Bin Hamad Al-Mana, Vice Chairman & CEO of Al Mana Group; Mr. Khalid Ahmed Al Mannai, Executive Director of Mannai Corporation; and Mr. Salah Mohammed Jaidah, Chairman MENA and Chief Country Officer of Deutsche Bank.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s investment potential in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and finance, promoting the country as an attractive destination for Qatari investors. The delegation expressed keen interest in upcoming projects, particularly in energy and infrastructure development.

The discussions also highlighted opportunities for collaboration aimed at creating jobs, fostering innovation, and advancing sustainable development in both countries. QBA members reacted positively to the Prime Minister’s invitation to increase their investments in Pakistan, recognizing the importance of bilateral cooperation for regional economic stability and growth.

Attendees included key officials such as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Commerce Kam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister for Finance Mohammad Aurangzeb, and Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.
