Islamabad : Feb 20,2024: The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) and Pakistan People Party (PPP) are playing the cat and mouse game for extorting maximum benefits of the divided mandate of February 8 election .
The two main stakeholders of Pakistan ‘s rotten democratic system are basically fighting for a deal that could give them maximum share in the game of interests. Since the election 2024, PMLN and PPP are playing a game of chess . PPP which is giving an impression of playing a great role to keep the democratic system intact in media talks and posing as if it’s ready to give support to PMLN in the centre, but ,in fact, its playing a smart game to blackmail PMLN and then grab all key constitutional offices of the country including the president office in return of giving Sharif’s party vote to elect its prime minister .
PPP had played the same cheeky game with PMLN in 16 -month rule of Shahbaz Sharif . PPP got key ministries including Foreign minister’s portfolio in PDM rule which turned as a source of leisure foreign trips for PPP chairman without bringing anything good for Pakistan. PPP did not share the responsibility of those PDM rule ‘s decisions which were criticised by the public like price-hike and economic meltdown down , but it enjoyed maximum in that rule.
Shahbaz Sharif ‘s 16 month rule destroyed PMLN and it’s obvious result is humiliating defeat to the party in February 8 election .
Interestingly , despite getting humiliating result in the election 2024 , PMLN, in particular , Shahbaz Sharif is ready to become the prime minister of Pakistan again , no matter how much it costs to PMLN . PMLN leadership ‘s lust for power is inspiring PPP to keep increasing its demands to support PMLN for the prime minister office this time. PMLN wants premiership at any cost and it provides a bait to PPP to strike a good deal for bagging maximum benefits like getting constitutional posts of Pakistan. The question arises why PMLN is ready for political suicide knowing that its rule in Pakistan with the support of PPP is not a throan of roses. One wonders why PMLN is not reading written on the wall? Sharifs should at least stop for a moment from recieving clapping for bringing maximum chicks (Independents ) in its net. Sharifs should at least hear to Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Mushahid Hussain Syed who ,being well wishers of PMLN , are pleading to Sharifs to resist their lust for power and recommending them to stay away from becoming prime minister on hired number game of PPP and others.
