PMLN down but not out yet

ISLAMABAD : July 18, 2022. The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) is. down due to losing by-polls in 20 constituencies of Punjab , but it is not out yet completely.

Even after losing the crucial by-elections on July 17, 2022 , the body language of PMLN leaders indicates they were still counting the number in Punjab assembly to save Hamza Shahbaz Sharif’s government.
.
After a landslide victory in by+polls held in the Punjab on Sunday last, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) has emerged as a major party with 178 members in Punjab assembly and after counting Pakistan Muslim League Quaid e Azam (PMLQ) members , its total strength goes up to 188.

A party or alliance needs 186 members to form the government in the province and PTI and PMLQ have got this golden number .

On the other hand , PMLN has only 167 members and with PPP and other allied parties its strength jumps up to 180 members . It is short by 6 members to reach to a level where it can win the election of the chief minister of Punjab.

If one goes strictly according to the numbers , PTI and PMLQ should not have any problem in defeating PMLN candidate , Hamza Shahbaz , and make a clear victory for its joint candidate , Chaudhary Perez Elahi.

But despite having less number in the assembly , PMLN is hoping for some miracle . Its leadership can woo a few members of PMLQ to change the game in Punjab and save Hamza Shahbaz government there .

With only a couple of days in hand , it seems difficult for PMLN to change the game in the Punjab in its favour but the game for PMLN is not over yet completely.
