Sargodha ; May 25,2024 : A timely action of the local police saved Pakistan from another shocking crisis when a case of alleged discretion of holy Quran in Mujahid Colony had become a flashpoint of violent protests here on May 25. The target of the violent protests was a 10-member Christian family who they alleged of discretion of the holy book. The events unfolding in Mujahid Colony suggested that a big crowed had gathered outside a local factory owned by the victim Christian family on early morning on Saturday. Hundreds of the local residents had gathered outside the factory after watching some posts on the social media of alleged discretion of the holy book. Aftering getting the information of the incident, the senior police officials of the local police sprang up in action and they moved the police in a large number to control the raging crowed. The police used tear gas to disperse the crowed . It rescued the victim family . The district police officer Sargodha and other senior officers of the local police not only controlled the protestors, but also saved lives of the victim family from the protestors. Around one dozen police personnel injured in the process of controlling the charged crowd. The local political leaders and clerics also played their role in controlling of the situation . After daylong efforts , the police managed to disperse the protestors. Inspector General of Punjab police , Dr Usman in a statement in the evening said the situation in Sargodha was under control and there was no loss of lives . He confirmed that 10 police personnel injured as a result of stone pelting by the crowed.
