Islamabad : Feb 12, 2024: A meeting of the Pakistan People Party (PPP) central executive committee (CEC) called to discuss post election scenario and formulate the future strategy has decided to follow a wait and see policy before taking any final decision on the question as if PPP should become a part of the coalition government or not .
Ex president , Asif Ali Zardari and party chairman , Balawal Bhutto , jointly chaired CEC meeting held in Islamabad on Monday. Those who attended CEC meeting included Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani , Raja Pervez Ashraf , Faisal Kundi, Faryal Talpur, Yousaf Talpur , Chaudhary Yasin , Chaudhary Latif , Farhatullah Babar , Syed Khurshid Shah, Sheri Rehman , Shazia Mari, Syed Nayyar Bukhari , Qamar Zaman Kaira , Murad Ali Shah , Qaim Ali Shah and others .
CEC was briefed on possible power sharing formula with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) to form government in the centre. PMLN and PPP had the first direct contact in Lahore a few days ago when PMLN chief , Shahbaz Sharif , had a meeting with Asif Ali Zardari and Balawal Bhutto . The two sides shared possible power sharing formula in Lahore meeting , but both sides remained tight lipped on making it public.
In a mid night presser , Sheri Rehman, Faisal Kundi and Shazia Mari said CEC has expressed serious concern on the poll rigging which it noted occured across Pakistan on election day. They added that CEC has decided to continue its deliberations for another day. PPP senior leader Faisal Kundi said CEC meeting will commence in Islamabad at 3 PM on Tuesday .
