PPP opposes division of Thatha district for delimitation

Sassui Palijo calls any such attempt a well considered conspiracy . She writes to ECP not to go for it

Thatha : Sept 25 : People’s Party Sindh leader Senator Sassui Palijo has issued a letter containing his reservations to the Election Commission regarding the possible delimitation of Thatta district and its inclusion in Karachi.

In the letter, Sassui said that during the digital population census, thousands of people were displaced due to rains in the coastal and hilly areas of the district and a large number of the people were not in their areas due to the lack of continuous water. She noted that the population census committee and the federation were also informed about the fact that they could not be registered or were not included in the census. Therefore, the constituencies of Thatta district should not be changed .

Sassui Palijo said that there are reservations of political parties and people about the census, we have also expressed our reservations and concerns many times through the media.

As per the actual number, one national and three provincial constituencies should be completed in the district she maintained, she said as per the current counting and enumeration, one national and three provincial constituencies can be completed with technical addition under the ten percent formula

Sassui Palijo added that district Thatta is known as a district with Ramsar sites due to its historical and cultural heritage, which included the Indus river, coastal belt and delta.
The surprise and the big thing is that this historical district has already been divided and now the constituencies are being divided and included in half of Karachi due to which the historical status and culture of this district is being considered as a conspiracy plan.

She said many historical cultural and world heritage sites including Bhanbhor, Makli, Haliji and Kenjhar Lake also testify to the historical status of this district and in this regard, division of district Thatta should be avoided.
