PS to minister for Auqaf in KPK threatens to kill senior govt official

Dy Director Auqaf KPK files complaint against PS

PESHAWAR— May 19,2024: A senior government official has lodged a serious complaint against Hukam Khan, the Private Secretary to the Minister of Auqaf, Hajj, Religious & Minority Affairs Department, for allegedly using abusive language and issuing threats against a fellow government officer. According to the complaint, the incident occurred on May 7, 2024, when Hukam Khan entered the office of the Deputy Administrator (N) of the Auqaf Department and allegedly threatened to kill him with a gun. The Deputy Administrator, who wishes to remain unnamed for security reasons, claims that Hukam Khan pressured him to manipulate reports regarding a waqf property located on Dalazak Road, Peshawar. The Deputy Administrator further stated that Qaiser Khan, another Deputy Administrator, and Asfandyar, a Superintendent, witnessed the incident and intervened by pushing Hukam Khan out of the office. Both witnesses corroborated the claims of the Deputy Administrator. The complaint highlights a history of alleged unethical and unprofessional behavior by Hukam Khan within the Auqaf Department. Despite numerous complaints and inquiries against him over the past decade, Hukam Khan has consistently managed to retain his position within the ministerial staff, which raises concerns about his influence and intentions within the department. The Deputy Administrator has formally requested the following actions: the lodging of an FIR against Hukam Khan, initiation of a departmental inquiry, and a complete ban on Hukam Khan’s entry into the premises of the Auqaf Department until the inquiry concludes. The letter has been copied to several high-ranking officials, including the PSO to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Chairman of the Provincial Inspection Team, the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Secretary of Establishment, and the Secretary of the Auqaf, Hajj, Religious & Minority Affairs Department. This matter raises serious questions about the working environment and internal dynamics within the Auqaf Department, prompting calls for a thorough investigation to ensure accountability and the safety of government officers.
