PTI chief tender apology over threatening of female judge in rally

ISLAMABAD : September 22, 2022: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) chief, Imran Khan, on Thursday tendered an apology before a bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) over using threatening language against a female district judge Islamabad and senior officials of the capital police.
The court appreciated the statement of the former prime minister and asked him to submit on oath his statement by September 29, 2022 and deferred the proceedings of indictment against him . The court will reassemble on October 3, 2022 to take up the case again.
On next hearing , the court will examine the statement to be submitted by the PTI chief in the case.
Former Prime minister, Imran Khan, appeared before the court hearing a case of court contempt against him with senior chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Shibli Faraz and his counsel , Hamid Khan.
A foolproof security was made in and outside the court on appearing of Imran Khan in the court. The security personnel and others personnel appointed for security of the former prime minister, Imran Khan, were unarmed as a precautionary measure, Only snipers on the top roof of the court building were armed.
The court allowed Imran Khan to give his statement before the bench. On getting permission, Imran Khan informed the court that his 26 years long struggle in Pakistan’s politics was indicative of his respect of the rule of law. He said except his none other political party is advocating the rule of law in the country . He maintained that his gave the statement in question in the rally in the peculiar circumstance.
He further said on the direction of the court, he was ready to go to the aggrieved judge and seek apology over the statement.
The court appreciated the statement of the former prime minister and directed him to submit his statement on oath by September 29, 2022 and adjourned the case till October 3, 2022..
