Imran Khan approves protest schedule from jail

Rawalpindi: Feb 15, 2024: Tehreek- e – Insaf (PTI) has given a call for peaceful protest for February 17,2024 against ‘ theft ‘ of PTI mandate . PTI chairman, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, announced the schedule for the protest for February 17 at Adiala jail gate after meeting with founding party chairman , Imran Khan. Imran Khan is in Adiala jail for serving a 10- year term in Cypher case . His party leaders off and on meet Imran Khan to seek approval of various plans and strategies in post February 8 election situation. PTI Chairman , Barrister Gohar Ali Khan , Barrister Saif Ali Khan, ex speaker national assembly , Asad Qaiser Khan held meeting with jailed founding party chairman , Imran Khan , on Thursday .

PTI chairman , Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, told media persons outside Adiala jail that Imran Khan has approved nomination of party secretary general , Omar Ayub Khan, for prime minister candidate . He said PTI will go to any length to get elected Omar Ayub Khan as prime minister of Pakistan. Other than Omar Ayub Khan, Imran Khan also approved nomination of Mian Aslam Iqbal as candidate for Punjab chief minister . He also approved nomination of Salar Sahib as PTI candidate for chief minister Balochistan .

Imran Khan has already approved nomination of Ali Amin Gandapur as chief minister Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK). Barrister Gohar Ali Khan claimed that PTI had won 180 national seats in February 8 election , but its mandate was stolen through change of results . PTI has been accusing the election Commission for change of results of February 8 election to pave ways for its political opponents to come into power . PTI is in a mood to build up pressure to reverse its stolen mandate .

PTI’s February 17 call for a countrywide protest against theft of mandate is once again going to drag Pakistan into the days of sit ins and subsequently add to political and economic fuss.
