PTI wins by -election of NA 245, ruling alliance eats dust

KARACHI . August 21, 2022. A coalition of 13 parties have failed to compete Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) in a by election of the national assembly in Karachi.

Despite every possible efforts of the ruling coalition to give tough time to win this by election , PTI candidate , Mahmood Maulvi , won by election of NA 245 Karachi with a big margin.

PTI ‘s Mahmood Maulvi bagged won by election of NA 245 Karachi for his party by securing 29,475 votes.

His runner up , Moeed Anwar of Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) got 13,193 votes .

Tehreek e Labaik (TLP) stood third , its Ahmad Raza got 9836 votes.

None of other parties in the run including Pakistan Pasban Party (PSP) and Azad candidate Farooq Sattar, could make any considerable show in this by elections.

The national assembly seat of NA 245 had got vacant with mysterious death of Amir Liaqat .

PSP is claimant of a real representative of Karachitis . Its candidate got only 1177 votes.

Farooq Sattar, who was contesting by election as an independent , could get only 3479. It was a poor show of Farooq Sattar who once used to get votes in hundred thousands in Karachi elections as a candidate of MQM.

But real embarrassment rested with the coalition government as its candidate was not in the race in the elections at all.
