Punjab Government Increases Student Bikes Quota

Lahore (Newsman): The Punjab government has raised the number of student bikes from 20,000 to 27,200. Electric bikes will be awarded to all female candidates.

The Transportation Department declared that free bicycles would be provided to orphan students. The Bank of Punjab has granted loans for 20,000 students to buy bike.

2,000 electric motorcycles and more than 5,000 petrol-powered bikes have already been distributed.

Soon, the government intends to supply 6,500 more electric motorcycles.

Every bike has two years of service and insurance. The bike will be delivered later to the more than 15,000 kids on the waiting list.

At first, the Punjab Cabinet authorized 20,000 electric motorcycles for students; however, because of problems including low mileage and battery theft, petrol-powered bikes were also included.

Maryam Nawaz proposed a lower down payment of Rs. 25,000 and a monthly installment of less than 5,000 PKR to lessen the financial strain. Students who perform well on exams will receive bike under a different program.
