LAHORE : April 19, 2023: The Punjab government has taken a big decision and approved yardsticks/ criteria for appointment of pharmacists at basic health units (BHUs) and Rural Health Centres (RHCs) with immediate effect.
Primary and Basic Health Department of the government of Punjab notified appointments of pharmacists at BHUs/ RHCs.

Appointments of pharmacists at BHUs and RHCs in Punjab is a major development and a key step towards refinement of sector besides ensuring quality medicines to the patiants who in the past were deprived of this basic facility.
The initiative taken by the Punjab government should be followed by other provinces as well Gilfit Baltisran (GB) and Azad Jammu Kashmir .
Dr Javed Akram has played a key role in accepting demands of the pharmacists for appointing pharmacist at BHUs and RHCs level.
All Pakistan Lawyers Pharmacists Association president , Noor Mahar , has appreciated the government decision approving appointments of pharmacists at each BHU and RHC across Punjab.
In a facilitation message , Noor Mahar , said the decision of the Punjab Government is extremely significant and it will ensure quality service and cheaper medicines to the patiants at gross root level. Noor Mahar also acknowledged the role of Dr Javed Akram in this milestone for health sector in Punjab and thanked him for this great service to the people of Punjab on behalf of pharmacists community.
