PYO, PMF host Pakistan independence day in Riyadh

Prominent overseas Pakistani urge decision makers to stop process of division in Pakistani nation and follow constitution to make a progressive Pakistan

RIYADH: August 1, 2023: Taking lead in hosting events in connection with Pakistan independence day falling on August 14, Peoples Youth Organisation (PYO) and Pak Media Forum (PMF) have jointly organized a colourful event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

A large number of Pakistani social and political activists, intellectuals. Journalists, women and children participated in the event. A group of folk singers sung songs relating to independence day of Pakistan which thrilled the audience. The singers inspired the audience by singing beautiful national songs. The participants of the event hosted Pakistani flags to express their love for Pakistan. The charged crowed waved Pakistani flags and chanted slogans Pakistan Zindabad , Saudi Arabia Zindabad on the occasion.

Focal person for ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and president PYO Saudi Arabia. Ihtasham Javed Kohli, and general secretary PYO, Ajaz Rahim, on this occasion said Pakistan is identity of Pakistanis and they are proud of being Pakistanis. They said overseas Pakistanis always pray for Pakistan’s progress and prosperity. They maintained that Pakistani are very talented people and those who are abroad are playing very important role in progress and prosperity of the country by sending much needed foreign exchange through remittances. They argued that the policy makers and those who are on the helm of affairs must make every possible effort to pull Pakistan out of current financial crisis.

Chairman PMF Ilyas Rahim , president Zakaullah Mohsin, senior vice president Waqar Naseem Wamiq , general secretary, Rana Azeem , joint secretary, Ajmal Minhas said Pakistan hold very prominent position in international community but currently its undergoing a political and economic crisis but its hoped that Pakistan will see exit from these thorny issues soon. They advocated that Pakistan’s political forces should follow political norms and ultimate forces should play a role within the constitution to strengthen the democratic system of Pakistan. They said it was high time for Pakistan to stop division among the people and show solidarity for progress and prosperity of Pakistan. They urged upon all stakeholders to follow principals laid down by the founder of Pakistan Mohmmad Ali Jinnah to make Pakistan a real democratic country.

Renowned architect Mr Naseem Ahmad, who as migrant is a witness to struggle made for Pakistan’s independence , also spoke on the occasion. He said the dreams of those who struggled for achieving Pakistan were yet to become true. He said the Muslims have offered unprecedented sacrifices and we as Pakistanis must follow the guidelines laid down by founder of Pakistan –Mohammad Ali Jinnah– and struggle to make Pakistan a true democratic country. Mr Naseem urged his fellow Pakistanis to work hard to turn Pakistan into a successful welfare state where the people enjoy all basic facilities and live a prosperous life.
