Islamabad – On the second day of his visit to Bradford, a grand dinner was hosted in honour of former Additional Secretary to the Government of Pakistan and former Provincial Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khushdil Khan Malik. The event was held at the residence of former Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Nazim Ali, and was attended by prominent community figures, including former Lord Mayor of Bradford Raja Ghazanfar Khaliq, Raja Musadiq Hussain, and other dignitaries.
Welcoming Mr. Malik, former Lord Mayor Raja Ghazanfar Khaliq lauded his devoted services for Overseas Pakistanis during his tenure in various high ranking positions under the Government of Pakistan. He appreciated Mr. Malik’s dedication and commitment to addressing the issues faced by the Pakistani diaspora.
Speaking at the gathering, community leaders praised the valiant role of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in achieving a decisive victory over India in the recent war, describing it as a matter of immense pride for Pakistanis worldwide, including those residing in the United Kingdom. They said preparations were underway to celebrate the forthcoming Independence Day on August 14 with great enthusiasm, reflecting the community’s joy over the Armed Forces’ triumph in what they termed the “Maarika-e-Haq”.
In his remarks, Khushdil Khan Malik expressed gratitude to Raja Nazim Ali for hosting the dinner in his honour and thanked all participants for their appreciation of Pakistan’s Armed Forces. He said the victory was a testament to the nation’s unity and the sacrifices of its defenders, adding that such achievements strengthen the bond between the homeland and its overseas citizens.
