Rawalpindi : The illegal sale of underground boring water is continuing in front of the Railway Carriage Factory Rawalpindi in the Shehzad Colony area of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board.
The people of the area demand that strict action be taken against those who do illegal boring in the city. Car washing centers, livestock farms, leather and marble factories should be made mandatory to use treated water and private water supply businesses should also be brought under the purview of the law to fully monitor.
The underground water in Rawalpindi has dropped to a dangerous level, while the problems are becoming more serious due to unnecessary use. Local self-made companies are earning lakhs of rupees daily from the supply of water, while the administration is playing the role of a silent spectator. Locals said that 80 diseases are caused by unsuitable and poisoned water. 9% of deaths in Pakistan are due to the use of poisoned water, while children are more and more affected and are also facing other deadly diseases like cholera, typhoid, skin diseases, hepatitis A and B and kidney diseases.
And the poisoned water of local companies is everywhere. Local water companies, without any permit and without obtaining authority from any institution, illegally sell the poisoned water at cheap prices by labeling it with self-made names, which is easy for everyone to quench their thirst.
