Rawalpindi test : ‘Bar B Q” turns equally deadly for England , Pakistan

Rawalpindi 24 October 2024: Updated at 6.34 pm. With loss of three early wickets in the last session of the day play, Pakistan seems losing grip on the third test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Pakistani opener –Abdullah Shafique –failed to make any impression again and got out for 14 runs . At this stage , Pakistan was 35 runs for 1 . Abdullah Shafique has failed as opener against England .

Abdullah Shafique ‘s dismissal was followed by Saim Ayub , the opener at other end. His individual score was only 19 runs in the first inning of the third test. Kamran Ghulam who had played a stunning inning in the second test also got out when his score was only 3 runs.

With dismissal of 3 early wickets , Pakistan seems in trouble. Pakistan’s total score at the closing of the day 1 of the first inning of third test was 73 for 3 in 20 overs. Fall of 13 wickets in just one day is an indicative of “Bar B Q” wicket of Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Earlier Today:  Third and final test in progress at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is likely to become as dramatic as second test for quick turning of the wicket.

Today England won the toss in the morning and decided to bat first.

This decision may not favour the visiting side which was all out for 267 runs in 68.2 overs by the beginning of the third session of the play.

After wrapping up England for 267 runs in the first inning in the last test of the series , Pakistan has put its openers for batting .

Pakistan has not made any change to its XI for the third and decisive match of the test series. Both teams have won one test each and the outcome of the third match will decide the series.

Since Pakistan had bowled out England for only 267 runs in the first inning , there is least possibility of draw of the match.

Rather , there is a possibility that the third and final test of the series becomes decisive even before its last day of the match.

Pakistan’s openers –Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub -are batting sensibly and pushing forward Pakistan ‘a score slowly but steadily.

Both England and Pakistan are likely to put in action their experience and ability to win the last match and so the series.
