Rohail Ikram appointed as brand ambassador to promote tourism in Uzbekistan

LAHORE; Mr Rohail Ikram, Chairman Pak-Uzbek Trade and Culture Centre, is appointed as brand ambassador in Pakistan to promote tourism in Uzbekistan tourism, by the ministry of tourism republic of Uzbekistan. This appointment was announced by Mr. Taimur Mirzav, Advisor and deputy minister of tourism of Uzbekistan. A graceful celebration was held in Lahore at Pak-Uzbek Trade and Culture Centre

On this occasion Mr. Taimur Mirzav briefed audience about tourism opportunities in Uzbekistan. He said that Uzbekistan is located in the heart of Central Asia, ready to expand its travel and tourism industry with its rich cultural and historical heritage, friendly people, and natural beauty. The government of Uzbekistan views its tourism sector as having high growth potential. He said “The government is also developing pilgrimage tourism. Uzbekistan has become a business hub for the CIS and Central Asian countries for several reasons including with geographic location, stability, economic performance, and positive attitude to global business together with its brotherly relations to neighboring nations. Uzbekistan has been a lucrative destination for investment, business and trade.”
He further said that Shrines of Samarkand Memorial complex of Imam Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ismail Al-Bukhari, a legendary theologian, collector of hadith is prominent destination for religious tourism
There are vast scope for business tourism with the objective of capitalizing and developing the lucrative business tourism opportunities in Uzbekistan. He further said that trade delegations, exhibitions, festivals, seminars, conferences, forums, summits, road shows, corporate trainings, summer / winter schools, cultural festivals and entertainments
He further said “Great Silk Road is located in the territory of modern Uzbekistan, where ancient trade routes crossed”
He explained that Uzbekistan retained great opportunities in medical, healthcare facilitation in Uzbekistan eco-tourism and recreation and cultural attractions.
