ISLAMABAD :. October 25,2022: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has finally moved against the characters of a multi million ticketing scam .
According to NEWSMAN sources , PIA Islamabad office has issued notices to all characters of the ticketing scam and directed to each one of them to submit their statement citing the reasons and cause of indulging in illegal act aimed at corruption by 5.30 PM on October 26,2022.
Those who have served notices by PIA investigation committee included .Fawad Banori , ex-GM Booking PIA office Islamabad , main character of the ticketing scam, who misused his authority and awarded tickets of over 30 million to M/s Royal Air Travel (RAT) when its cash security was only Rs 6 million.
Fawad Banori was so daring in misusing his authority and getting illegal benefits at the cost of PIA interest that he colluded with M/s Royal Air Travel (RAT) to get unauthorized tickets for his in laws and added millions of rupee to loss to the national flag carrier .
The financial scam involving unauthorized award of tickets of Rs 30 million plus to M/s RAT had hit PIA Islamabad office in 2017. Fawad Banori ,who was considered well contacted with top level management, managed to hush up this ticketing scam for years .
Top management of PIA Islamabad office also protected the accused and his accomplices including M/s Royal Air Travel (RAT) and did not take any action against the culprits for years.
PIA Islamabad office would have been sleeping on the issue even today primarily to protest wrongdoings of its employee had the scam not appeared in the national media some two weeks ago.
With appearing of the scam news in the media , PIA Islamabad office finally woke up to serve notices on all characters of the fraud .
It’s a glaring case of misused of authority by a senior offiicial of PIA . The committee formed to investigate the scam need to work diligently to fix up all characters of the fraud and also follow a strategy to recover defrauded money from M/s RAT which is a RAT in deed to eat up money in millions of the national flag carrier .
