Rupee maintains edge over USD in interbank

KARACHI: Nov 11, 2022: The domestic currency market shows stability during the last couple of days.
US dollar showed slight depreciation against the local unit in interbank on Friday. US dollar was recorded at Rs 221.50 against Rs 221.70 in mid day trading on Friday.
In open market there is no fluctuation for the last couple of days. US dollar is trading to a rupee at Rs 225.50 .
Finance minister Ishaq Dar’s intervention is keeping the currency market stable in Pakistan. Prior to his reentry as Finance minster, domestic currency market was being manipulated by a strong dollar mafia of banks and forex currencies.
Soon his take over as Finance minister had issued a stern warning to dollar mafia and made it caution of punitive action in case it kept on playing for artificial price of US dollar against the rupee.
