KARACHI: March 21,2023: After losing ground for almost a week, the rupee finally managed to stop winning streak of US dollar in the local currency market. US dollar lost Rs 0.70 against the rupee in interbank today (Wednesday).
US dollar today’s rate is Rs 283.30 and Rs 283.70 in buying and selling respectively in interbank against its rates of Rs 284 buying and Rs 284.25 selling on Tuesday .
In open market, US dollar also lost marginally. US dollar is trading at Rs 282 buying and Rs 285 selling against its rates of Rs 283 buying and Rs 286 selling on Tuesday.
Other major currencies are either pegging to their last day’s rates in local market or they are also showing downward trend as compared to their rates on Tuesday.
Saudi Riyal buying and selling rates today are Rs 75 and Rs 77.80 respectively. UAE dirham is trading today at Rs 77 buying and Rs 77.80 selling. Euro’s rate is Rs 302 buying and Rs 305 selling. Pound sterling is trading at 343.50 buying and Rs 347 selling.
AUD is trading today at Rs 186.50 buying and Rs 188.50 selling . CAD dollar is trading today at RS 204.50 buying and Rs 206.50 selling .
Pakistan’s currency market is extremely volatile and all currencies are showing quick fluctuation in their rates. Uncertainty in economic matter coupled with political crisis is hurting Pakistan’s currency .
