Russian cultural evening held in Lahore to mark Russia’s national day

Lahore.: A Russian Cultural Evening was organized at the Alhamra Cultural Complex, Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, by the Russian Centre for Science, Education and Culture Lahore and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Islamabad to celebrate Russia’s National Day.

The event featured internationally renowned Russian artists who showcased traditional Russian cultural performances. Pakistani artists also captivated the audience with regional folk dances and Kathak dance performances, receiving widespread appreciation.

The chief guest on the occasion was Mr. Gleb Shubin, Education and Cultural Attaché of the Russian Embassy in Pakistan. The event was also addressed by Dr. Shahid Hasan, Russian Ambassador for Science and Education and Chairman of the Russian Centre, and Dr. Ashraf Nizami, CEO of the Honorary Consulate of the Russian Federation in Lahore.

In his address, Mr. Gleb Shubin stated that strengthening cultural relations between Pakistan and Russia not only enhances people-to-people connections but also creates opportunities for the business communities of both countries to benefit from closer cooperation. He added that the people of Pakistan have always shown a keen interest in cultural understanding and engagement with other nations.

Dr. Shahid Hasan, Chairman of the Russian Centre and Russian Ambassador for Education and Science, emphasized that strong diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Russia represent an important milestone in the economic development of both countries. He noted that cultural events such as this provide valuable opportunities for the people of both nations to explore new horizons and deepen mutual understanding. He further remarked that the friendship between Pakistan and Russia is highly valued at the international level.

Professor Dr. Ashraf Nizami, CEO of the Honorary Consulate of the Russian Federation in Lahore and Vice Chairman of the Russian Centre, highlighted that the strong attachment of both Russian and Pakistani people to their cultural heritage reflects the greatness of their respective nations.

The event concluded with a spectacular performance by the Russian cultural troupe, which presented traditional Russian folk arts. Pakistani performers also entertained the audience with regional dances, while renowned Kathak dancer Mr. Asfandyar Khattak impressed attendees with his exceptional artistry.

A large number of people from various walks of life attended the event, making it a memorable celebration of culture, friendship, and mutual respect between Pakistan and Russia.
