ISLAMABAD, October 17,2024: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has disposed the petitions challenging a the proposed constitutional amendments after senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Hamid Khan withdrew his support at the eleventh hour.
A three-member bench, led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, and including Justices Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Shahid Bilal Hassan, heard the case.
The petitions had been filed jointly by Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Abid Zuberi and other applicants, including six members of the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) and the Balochistan Bar Council (BPC).
Following Hamid Khan’s withdrawal, the court disposed of the pleas, effectively ending the legal challenge to the proposed amendment.
