Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb commented on the situation, explaining that difficult decisions had been made to safeguard public health.
She attributed the improvement in the smog situation to a shift in the direction and speed of the eastern winds, which helped clear the air in Punjab.
Earlier this week, schools in Rawalpindi Division reopened after improvements in air quality, with a reduction in smog levels.
Schools in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, and Chakwal resumed their activities, following the easing of air pollution.
The Punjab government had previously announced the closure of schools from November 17 to 25 due to hazardous air quality.
However, as smog levels decreased, schools in affected areas have reopened.
