RAWALPINDI: Pakistani security forces have killed nine Khwarij, including two suicide bombers and a high-value target, Said Muhammad alias Qureshi Ustad, during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Bajaur district, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation took place on the night of October 23-24, 2024, based on intelligence regarding the presence of Khwarij in the area.
The ISPR stated, “During the operation, our troops effectively engaged the Khwarij positions. After an intense exchange of fire, nine Khwarij, including two suicide bombers and the high-value target Qureshi Ustad, were neutralized.”
A significant cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives was also recovered from the slain Khwarij, who had been involved in various terrorist activities against both security forces and innocent civilians.

A sanitization operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining Khwarij in the area, as Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism from the country, the statement concluded.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister praised the security forces for their successful intelligence-based operation against Khwarij in Bajaur District.
In a statement, President said that the entire nation stands united against terrorism. He noted that both the people and the security forces will work together to thwart the plans of the terrorists.
The President reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the complete eradication of Fitnah Al Khwarij.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has praised the officers and personnel of the security forces for their successful operation against Khwarij in Bajaur District.
The Prime Minister stated that the entire nation stands united with its security forces in the fight against terrorism.
He affirmed that the war against terrorism will continue until its complete eradication from the country.
