ISLAMABAD : August 17, 2022. Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) top leader, Asad Umar , has claimed that arrested party leader, Shahbaz Gill has refused to give statement against party chief, Imran Khan, in police custody.
He claimed that he found Shahbaz Gill in high spirit despite police torture during custody and flatly refused to give statement against Imran Khan to involve him in sedition case.
He said Shahbaz Gill was braving worst torture of the police during custody but he did not lost his courage .
Shahbaz Gill was arrested last week by Islamabad police for giving a highly controversial statement involving top leadership of the army. He is now in jail on judicial remand and facing sedition case .
A district and session judge of Islamabad had rejected a plea of the police for further physical remand and send Shahbaz Gill to jail on judicial remand .
The Islamabad police has filed a case with addition session judge Islamabad for cancellation of his judicial remand. The decision on the Islamabad police plea is likely to be announced by the court shortly.
Asad Umar in his tweet said ” The police had recovered phones from SHahbaz Gill soon after his arrest and now it was demanding his physical remand for torturing him and get a statement from him to involve Imran Khan in the case.
