ISLAMABAD : March 15,2023; The government has increased the prices of the petroleum products for the next fortnight . The new rates will remain effective till March 31.
According to an official notification , petrol prices go up by Rs 5 to take its rates to Rs 272 a liter .
Kerosin rates have been jacked up by Rs 2.56 and its new prices are Rs 190.29 a litre .
High speed diesel (HSD) prices have increased by Rs 13. Its new rates are Rs 293 a litre. No change in light diesel rates has been made for now.
The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government has jacked up the rates of the petroleum products for end commuters when the brent (crude oil) prices have gone down in the international market.
On Wednesday when the Shahbaz Sharif government added another huge burden on the vehicle owners by increasing the rates of the petroleum products , Brent rates have fallen down drastically. The PDM government is blindly accepting demands of IMF for getting a bailout package of $ 1.2 billion.
The increase in the rates of petroleum products is self explanatory . The people of Pakistan are not in a position to bear more burden
