Six Algerian honoured with “Waai Award” in Riyadh

The initiative aims to support, empower individuals interested in health awareness across Arab world

Riyadh : Among the award recipients is student Mohamed El Amin Ben Dadi, who won in the advertising photography category (for students), alongside Mohsen Dahmoun El-Hadi, recognized in the infographics category (individuals). Additionally, Yasmin Hamoudi and Abdelkader Rachdi Bakou received accolades in the infographics category (for students), while Ilyas Ould Menour was awarded in the short film category (for students). Khairat Ahsen also took home a prize in the portrait shots category.

The winners were celebrated at a closing ceremony held last Monday evening in Riyadh, which was attended by Saudi Minister of Health Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Al-Jalajel, Minister of Education Youssef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, along with numerous contributors to health awareness in the community.

The themes for this sixth season of the award addressed various issues primarily related to physical activity, infectious and non-communicable diseases, traffic accidents, first aid, and addiction. The total prizes for the “Awareness” Award exceed one million Saudi riyals, in addition to a separate “Audience Award” given to the top ten submissions as voted on by the public through the award’s website.

It is noteworthy that the “Awareness” Award enjoys extensive participation at both local and Arab levels, having recognized over 300 individuals committed to health awareness in previous seasons.
